About her work
Van impressionistisch geschilderde landschappen ging haar werk al snel in de richting van het abstract-expressionisme waaronder gestural abstration (action-painting). Ter afwisseling schildert zij ook figuratief waarin zij menselijke emoties en relaties ook wel op een cartoonachtige manier uitbeeldt. In haar huidige werk vloeien zelfreflectie, inventiviteit en uitdrukkingskracht dan ook op harmonische wijze samen.
Op pagina: "Gallery" is haar werk te zien verdeeld over 10 albums. Helaas bij het aanklikken van een schilderij valt er een deel weg door de tekstrand aan de bovenzijde.
Manou was born in Amsterdam and lived part of her youth in the USA. She is a professional artist and has had exhibitions in New York, Miami, San Diego and the Netherlands. Many of her paintings are in private and corporate collections internationally. Her work varies from abstract to realistic, both in acrylic or oil paint and covers a wide range of subject matter. In her present work self-reflection, inventiveness and expression flow together in a harmonious way.
